Humans have evolved the blessing and curse of a "sentient" conscience, or perhaps more appropriately conscience to a high level, in which we are amongst the only organisms that don't aim to reach an equilibrium with our surroundings but instead continue to use up resources and reproduce irregardless of the environment. Animals and plants (to a certain degree) do the same, except for they respect their local carrying capacity and do not breed when they detect there is insufficient resources and/or have already developed a steady balance within their community. Animals are perfectly content being what they are, and there is no reason to believe they have any thoughts about God or otherworldly beings. They are just 'there'; simple, ignorant creatures. Humans on the other hand have an innate, growing desire to become more complex beings. With our conscience, it can be argued that is our responsibility to work towards becoming more complex beings, and uncovering more about the universe, and applying the knowledge to make the world a better place for all. That's enough point in life, for me. On the other hand, the only organisms that continue to proliferate without regard for maintaining an environmental homeostasis are microbes and cancerous cells. With the way the world is being polluted and destroyed with violent acts, it can also be argued that humans are a cancerous or viral species that plague the Earth.

None of us deserve to roast in the fires of hell. I think much of hell, if there is one, to be metaphorically described in literature (well, I suppose the majority of religous texts are for the sake of exaggeration and interesting imagery). It would be a place of suffering, with violent beings, much like Earth, but not complete torture.

Everyone has a choice to evade hell though. Of course God knows that not every person will enter Heaven; in a sense God is ommnipotent and knows everything, yet at the same time reality is allowed to be experience by us with free will. I know it doesn't make sense, but divinity exists outside any realm of human logic. Ergo, the classic omnipotence paradox: can God create a rock heavy enough that he cannot lift? If the answer is yes, then he is not omnipotent as there is something that God cannot do. If the answer is no, then he is not omnipotent as there is something that God cannot do. But it doesn't really matter IMO. it's a moot point if it's something mortal creatures could never understand. I don't really like rain either.
